Moscow - Saba:

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that the second round of Russian-American consultations will be held in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

The ministry explained in a statement carried by the Russian Sputnik News Agency that the second round of Russian-American consultations will be held in the coming days, noting that the Russian delegation will be headed by Alexander Darchev, who currently serves as the Russian ambassador to the United States.

The US delegation will be headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter, in addition to representatives from the foreign policy ministries of both countries.

The statement noted that during the consultations with the United States, serious efforts will continue to address most of the problems facing the work of diplomats in both countries.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed last Friday that his country is currently working to restore relations with the United States.
