Washington - Saba:
An analysis conducted by the "Defense News" website revealed that the US Air Force recorded the lowest level of combat readiness for its aircraft in the recent period, as the readiness rate to carry out missions across the entire fleet reached 62%, the lowest rate in years.
According to the American website, more than six out of every ten aircraft in the Air Force fleet were able to carry out their missions during the fiscal year 2024.
However, the readiness rate of 62% is considered a worrying indicator, especially in light of the shrinking size of the US Air Force fleet to 5,025 aircraft, the lowest level in the history of the Air Force, which extends over 78 years.
The analysis indicated that US Air Force aircraft have entered the aging stage, making it more difficult to maintain their readiness to carry out combat missions.
