The multipurpose cooperative association in the Old Sana'a District was officially announced on Thursday in the Capital Secretariat.
During the founding meeting, organized by the association’s preparatory committee with support from the local authority in the Capital Secretariat—represented by the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit—and in coordination with the Bunyan Development Foundation and the Secretariat’s Office of Social Affairs and Labor, the association’s bylaws were approved, and its administrative board and inspection committee were elected.
At the announcement ceremony, Khalil Al-Qurayshi, the Assistant Undersecretary for Local Development at the Ministry of Administration and Local Development, emphasized the importance of establishing and formalizing cooperative associations in the districts of the Capital Secretariat, which will mark a significant step toward collaborative development work.
He highlighted the expected role of these associations in coordinating efforts and resources to support development initiatives, ultimately improving service conditions and meeting community aspirations.
Meanwhile, Abduh Masri, Director of Initiatives at the Ministry of Administration and Local Development; Nabil Rajih, Director of Associations at the Secretariat’s Office of Social Affairs and Labor; Mehdi Arahab, Director of the Old Sana'a District; and Wael Al-Far, Sana'a Region Director at the Bunyan Foundation, discussed the efforts made in preparing and establishing the cooperative association for the residents of Old Sana'a District. They praised the cooperation and support of the local authority in the Secretariat and relevant entities in facilitating the association’s creation.
The event was attended by Abdulhafeez Hisn, Head of the Agricultural Cooperative Union in the Capital Secretariat; Razq Al-Gharara, Mobilization Officer in the Old Sana'a District; and several other officials.
