The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that the United States plans to spend approximately $60 billion on developing and supporting all components of the country's nuclear triad in fiscal year 2026.
A senior US Department of Defense representative stated during a special press conference, "The nuclear field is in the process of modernization. Therefore, the fiscal year 2026 budget requests approximately $60 billion for the nuclear field to support and modernize all aspects of the nuclear triad."
