The German Football Association announced the extension of the contract of Julian Nagelsmann, coach of the German national football team, until 2028.
The association said in a statement last night that through this extension, it aims to achieve success and win titles based on the coach's efforts and experience.
Nagelsmann's contract was due to expire in 2026 after Germany's participation in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico, but the German Federation decided to grant him an additional two years, to end after the 2028 European Nations Championship, which will be held in Britain and Ireland.
For his part, Julian Nagelsmann (37) considered that his experience in the last European Cup convinced him to stay in his position to supervise the national team in (World Cup 2026) and (Euro 2028).
Nagelsmann took over the German national team in September 2023, succeeding coach Hans Flick, and led the German national team in (Euro 2024), reaching the quarter-finals before losing to Spain in extra time by two goals to one.
Nagelsmann succeeded in leading Germany to cross the group stage in the first level of the European Nations League competitions after topping its group, and is preparing to face Italy in the quarter-finals next March.
