London – Saba:
Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool forward, stated that winning the Ballon d'Or is a dream for him, and it would be even greater as it would be an achievement that brings joy to the Egyptian people.
In an interview with France Football magazine, Salah added: "I want to win the Ballon d'Or for my fans in Egypt. This dream has been in my mind for years."
Mohamed Salah is one of the strongest contenders for the Ballon d'Or this year, following an exceptional season with Liverpool. He played a key role in securing the Premier League title, claimed the Golden Boot with 29 goals, and provided 18 assists in the league—scoring 34 goals and making 23 decisive passes across all competitions.
In his interview with the French magazine, Salah explained that the idea of winning the award was not on his mind during his childhood, saying: "When you play in the streets of Egypt, you don’t picture yourself lifting the Ballon d'Or. I started thinking about it when my agent told me I could win it."
He continued: "The dream began to feel real when I joined Liverpool, not during my time at Roma. And if this dream comes true, it will be something incredible."
Salah added: "Even if I don’t win the award, I am proud of my career. But I still have a clear mental image: achieving this honor for the Egyptian people."
