The US Treasury Department announced its intention to issue a new batch of long-term bonds for subscription next week, totaling $183 billion.
The Treasury Department stated in a statement that it will offer $69 billion in two-year bonds and $70 billion in five-year bonds, concluding the offering week with the sale of $44 billion in seven-year bonds.
Last month, the Treasury sold $69 billion in two-year bonds and $70 billion in five-year bonds, and concluded the offering week with the sale of $44 billion in seven-year bonds. Demand for the two-year bonds was below average, while demand for the five- and seven-year bonds was within average range.
