Washington - Saba:
ABC News, citing a source familiar with US intelligence, reported that preparations are underway for a possible US attack on Iran's Fordow nuclear facility, including more than one strike.
The channel reported that US President Donald Trump is becoming accustomed to the idea of destroying the Iranian nuclear facility at Fordow. According to the source, "It may not be limited to a single strike on the site, but rather multiple strikes. Preparations are currently underway for this."
Axios also reported, citing a US official, that Trump asked military advisors whether the US GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOOP) is capable of destroying the Fordow facility, and Pentagon officials informed the US president that they are confident in this.
US officials told the website that Trump wants to ensure that US intervention is truly necessary, so as not to drag Washington into a long-term war in the Middle East and achieve the primary goal of destroying Iran's nuclear program.
On Friday morning, Israel launched an attack on Iran, bombing nuclear facilities and missile bases and assassinating a group of top military leaders and nuclear experts. Iran responded on Friday evening and Saturday morning by launching hundreds of ballistic missiles at the heart of the entity, killing a number of Israelis, wounding dozens, and causing extensive damage.
