Occupied Quds– Saba:
Al-Qud Governorate has condemned the unprecedented violations by the Israeli enemy against the religious and human rights of Palestinians, particularly in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement,Al-Quds Governorate confirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities continued to impose strict restrictions on Al-Aqsa Mosque for the seventh consecutive day on Thursday. It noted that the "worshipper quota" policy represents a dangerous precedent in targeting freedom of worship.
The Governorate stated that the occupation authorities began implementing the "worshipper quota" policy on Wednesday evening after six consecutive days of completely closing the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque to worshippers—a move described as "the most dangerous precedent since the COVID-19 pandemic."
It explained that on Thursday, the occupation forces allowed only 450 worshippers to enter through the Hatta Gate to perform the noon prayer before immediately sealing the gate to prevent further entry or exit. Meanwhile, Waqf employees were permitted to enter through the Chain and Hatta Gates under tight surveillance.
In contrast, the Israeli forces opened the Mughrabi Gate for settlers, allowing 133 extremists to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque in the morning, along with one individual who entered under the pretext of "tourism," all under heavy security protection.
Al-Quds Governorate considered these measures a dangerous escalation aimed at imposing a new reality to alter the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque, exploiting the regional war climate to advance their schemes.
It emphasized that the closure policy and numerical control of worshippers have caused a near-total paralysis of life in the Old City, where those without an Old City ID are barred from entry, while Jewish synagogues and markets remain open as usual.
The Governorate called on the international community and relevant parties to uphold their legal and humanitarian responsibilities, urging immediate action to halt these violations. It demanded that the Israeli occupation authorities respect the historical and legal status quo of Al-Aqsa Mosque , lift all restrictions imposed on the Old City and its residents.
