Moscow – SABA:
The Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, warned on Thursday that any U.S. military involvement in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel would represent a major escalation in the Middle East.
Speaking at a press briefing carried by Sputnik News Agency, Peskov stated:
“Such intervention would mean an additional, dangerous escalation throughout the region.”
He added that Russia’s concerns would grow significantly if the United States deepened its involvement in the Iranian-Israeli confrontation:
“We would feel increasingly concerned.”
Peskov further noted that U.S. President Donald Trump had not informed Russia of any plans to escalate the conflict, and emphasized that Trump cannot accept or reject Russian President Vladimir Putin’s mediation offers regarding the Middle East, saying:
“This is a matter for the directly involved parties to decide.”
