The Shura Council Presidency held a meeting headed by the Council Chairman Mohammed Hussein Al-Eidaroos, in which it discussed the draft recommendations of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Committee regarding the national initiative to support the Yemeni product. The Authority approved the recommendations, absorbed the comments and referred them to the main committee.
The meeting stressed the importance of supporting and localizing local products to enhance the national economy, reduce the import bill, and contribute to combating poverty and unemployment. The Authority praised the efforts of the Agriculture and Fisheries Committee in preparing the vision that included strategic proposals and mechanisms.
The Chairman of the Committee, Eng. Abdul Salam Al-Nahari presented a presentation on the recommendations that focused on developing agricultural and animal production, developing the countryside, and stimulating investment in the agricultural and fisheries sectors. The recommendations also included proposals to improve food security, increase job opportunities, and enhance popular and official cooperation to implement investment projects in agricultural production and marketing.
The meeting addressed administrative and organizational topics, reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting, and approved it, taking appropriate measures regarding the activities included in the Council's plan.
