GAZA August 09. 2024 (Saba) - The Qassam Brigades announced Friday evening the pledge of allegiance to the new head of Hamas' political bureau, Yahya Sinwar.
Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Obeida said in a statement, "The Qassam Brigades pledges allegiance to the mujahid commander Yahya Sinwar, and declares its full readiness to implement his decisions."
He added: "We believe that his choice as head of the movement to succeed our leader, the martyr Mujahid Ismail Haniyeh, is evidence of the vitality, cohesion, and strength of the movement thanks to the Allah Almighty."
On Tuesday evening, Hamas announced the selection of its leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, as head of its political bureau, replacing Haniyeh, who was killed in a Zionist bombing that targeted his residence during his visit to the Iranian capital Tehran last week.
The movement said in a statement that Sinwar's selection for this position came after "in-depth and extensive consultations and deliberations in the movement's leading institutions".
The movement expressed confidence in "Sinwar as its leader at a sensitive stage and a complex local, regional and international circumstance."
