Moscow - Saba:
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Monday that attempts by Western countries to prevent the establishment of a just world order have led to global instability, noting that the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East is one manifestation of this global instability.
In a welcoming message to participants in the Primakov Readings Forum, President Putin said, as reported by Sputnik: "The attempts of Western countries to prevent the establishment of a just, multipolar world order and to maintain a globalization model that benefits only these countries have led to significant destabilization of the global situation and a sharp increase in security threats at the regional and global levels. One manifestation of this is the current tragic escalation of the conflict in the Middle East."
President Putin continued in his message: "We proceed from the fact that effective resistance to modern challenges and a final exit from the Western-centric coordinate system can only be ensured through the collective efforts of the global majority, based on the principles of genuine equality and respect for each other's legitimate interests."
Putin expressed his hope that experts from various countries would focus on the key issues facing the modern world and assess the prospects for global development in the foreseeable future.
He added, "The Primakov Readings have established themselves as a highly credible international forum for experts. Current issues in global politics and economics are discussed here in the Primakov style, openly and impartially, based on methodological, in-depth analysis, and objective facts."
Russian President Vladimir Putin wished the forum participants "interesting and meaningful discussions, during which new, unconventional ideas and useful initiatives will undoubtedly be heard."
The forum, named after scientist and statesman Yevgeny Primakov, will be held in Moscow on June 23 and 24. At the opening of the forum, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov read President Putin's greetings to the event's organizers and participants.
