TEHRAN August 08. 2024 (Saba) - The Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed on Thursday that Tehran's response to the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh would be "costly" for the Zionist entity but in the interest of "regional security".

Iranian news agencies quoted Iran's acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri as saying: "Our response to the assassination of Haniyeh will be costly for the Zionist entity but in the interest of regional security".

Bagheri pointed out that "the Zionist entity is not in a position to wage war against the Islamic Republic of Iran at the present time".
