Widespread Criticism of Palestinian Authority's Offer to Help Israel Extinguish Fires

West Bank - SABA:

Numerous writers, analysts, and activists have condemned the Palestinian Authority (PA) for offering assistance to the Zionist enemy government in extinguishing fires that broke out in settlements around Quds.

This move comes amid Israel’s ongoing genocidal war on Gaza and violent raids in West Bank refugee camps.

Writer and activist Intisar Al-Awawdeh described the PA’s stance as "a blatant disregard for Palestinians, reflecting submission and groveling before an occupation that massacres Gaza and the West Bank."

In a statement to Quds Press on Wednesday, she added:
"While Gaza’s bodies burn under enemy fire, with families dying from hunger, disease, and thirst, and while forced displacement continues in the northern West Bank, the PA rushes to offer help putting out fires inside the Zionist entity—saving settlers' lives and property."

She continued:
"This authority has truly dedicated itself to siding with the occupation, not just through security coordination to crush resistance in the West Bank, but now as a rescue and firefighting force for settlers."

Political analyst Marwan Al-Qabbani stated:
"Amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza—which has claimed tens of thousands of martyrs, destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes, and displaced millions—and amid the brutal assaults on West Bank camps, resulting in dozens of martyrs and mass displacement, the PA offers to help the enemy extinguish fires near Quds."

He questioned:
"What justifies this behavior, which violates national consensus? It stems from the PA abandoning its duty to protect Palestinians and provide them a dignified life under siege and starvation."

Social media platforms were flooded with sarcastic posts mocking the PA’s decision, with many viewing it as a further insult to Palestinian suffering and proof of its loyalty to the occupation.

Zionist channel "Kan" reported that the PA proposed assistance in controlling fires near Quds settlements, though the Israeli government has yet to respond.
