Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated on Tuesday that her country supports the efforts being made by Arab nations to work on a “credible” plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
Meloni, speaking after a summit with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Rome, also emphasized Italy’s backing of “the efforts by Arab states aimed at achieving lasting peace and security at the regional level.”
She noted that “the situation in Gaza is becoming increasingly tragic.”
Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist occupation forces—fully backed by the United States—have continued their assault on Gaza by land, sea, and air. The ongoing aggression has resulted in the death and injury of more than 170,000 Palestinians, according to unofficial figures, as thousands of victims remain buried under the rubble.
