THE HAGUE February 22. 2024 (Saba) - China declared on Thursday that the Zionist occupation of Palestinian territories is "illegal" and asked the International Court of Justice to express its opinion on it.
According to AFP, Chinese Foreign Ministry legal adviser Ma Shenmin said during his pleading before the International Court of Justice that the Zionist occupation of Palestinian territories is "illegal," while demanding justice in this file.
Beijing's representative Machin Min told the court in The Hague, the Netherlands, "Justice has been delayed for a long time, but it should not be denied."
"It has been 57 years since the Zionist occupation of the occupied Palestinian territories began. The illegal nature of the occupation and sovereignty over the occupied territories has not changed."
More than 50 countries will deliver their arguments before the court in The Hague in response to a request received by International Justice in 2022 from the UN General Assembly for an advisory opinion, i.e. non-binding, on the occupation.
