Seoul - Saba:
South Korea recorded its highest average temperature for June on Friday, according to a bulletin released by the agency. The country is experiencing a heat wave and unprecedented tropical nights.
Yonhap News Agency reported that the country recorded an average temperature of 22.9 degrees Celsius last month, 0.2 degrees Celsius higher than the same month last year. This marks the hottest June since 1973, when the country began extensively collecting weather data.
The agency stated that the country experienced a rise in average temperatures last month due to a high-pressure system that formed in the southeast, bringing warm and humid southwesterly winds.
