TEHRAN May 28. 2023 (Saba) - Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi affirmed the joint positions of his country and the Sultanate of Oman on the issues of Yemen and Palestine. Praising the role of the Sultanate of Oman, especially Sultan Haitham Al Said, which aims to fulfill the rights of the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples.
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), this came during the joint meeting held Sunday afternoon in Tehran, and included the visiting Omani delegation headed by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and a group of senior Iranian officials.
During the meeting, the Iranian president called for resolute continuation of this role.
He said, "The relations between Iran and the Sultanate of Oman have risen from the level of trade to the level of investment. He described the common positions and vision of strengthening regional rapprochement of the leaders of the two countries, in addition to the energies and grounds available to them, as capable of expanding bilateral relations at the bilateral and regional levels."
Mr. Raisi considered the capabilities available in the two countries "in various industrial and commercial fields, communications, defense and security affairs, land roads, railways, transport, maritime navigation, transit trade, financial transfers and energy," among the available opportunities to expand cooperation between the two countries.
Noting the results of the talks that took place today on enhancing investment cooperation, the Iranian president called for settling the agreement on establishing a joint fund to support investment development between Iran and Oman.
In turn, the Sultan of Oman expressed his appreciation for the invitation and the warm welcome he received from the Iranian president. He described the relations between Tehran and Muscat as having witnessed growth at the bilateral and regional levels, since Mr. Raisi's recent visit to Muscat.
