Gaza - (Saba):
leader in the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, confirmed to Al Jazeera that a date for the release of Israeli soldier Idan Alexander had been reached with the Red Cross today.
This morning, Al-Qassam spokesperson 'Abu Ubaida' announced the release of the Zionist soldier with American citizenship, 'Idan Alexander', on Monday, May 12, 2025.
In the same context, Israel's Channel 12 claimed that the release of the prisoner "Idan Alexander" will take place at 6:30 from Khan Younis.
On Sunday evening, Hamas announced that it had agreed to release the American prisoner following direct talks with U.S. envoy Brett McGurk.
Hamas clarified that the release of the soldier was in exchange for opening the crossings, allowing humanitarian aid in, and engaging in comprehensive negotiations for a ceasefire.
