SANA'A, Aug. 10 (Saba) - President of the Supreme Political Council Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat met on Tuesday with Minister of Industry and Trade Abdul Wahab al-Durra.
Al-Mashat and al-Durra discussed the decision of the US-led aggression and its mercenaries to raise the customs tariff which will double the suffering of the Yemeni people.
They touched on the measures taken by the Ministry and the concerned authorities to face the repercussions of raising the customs tariff, in addition to providing facilities to traders and the private sector to import through the port of Hodeida.
President al-Mashat said the decision of the aggression is to target all citizens in the various provinces without exception, adding the decision to raise the customs tariff comes within the framework of its comprehensive war against the Yemeni people.
He stressed the importance of redoubling efforts and coordination between the various concerned parties and the private sector to control prices and achieve supply stability.
President al-Mashat directed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to pay attention to and encourage local production, and protect it from flooding the market with imported goods.
