Flamengo extended their lead in the Brazilian Serie A with a 2-1 victory over Mirassol in the 18th round on Sunday.

In other matches, Internacional defeated Bragantino 3-1, Botafogo defeated Fortaleza 5-0, São Paulo defeated Vitória 2-0, and Bahia drew 3-3 with Fluminense.

Flamengo recorded their 12th win, against four draws and two defeats, to extend their lead at the top of the table to 40 points, three points ahead of Cruzeiro.

Leo Pereira put Flamengo ahead in the 19th minute, and Gonzalo Plata added the second goal in the 68th minute. Gabriel reduced the deficit with Mirassol's only goal in the 74th minute.
