Dr. Ahmed Al-Farra, director of Al-Shifa Hospital at the Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza, reported on Sunday that the hospital is witnessing a sharp rise in cases of ascending paralysis caused by water contamination, which has so far resulted in the deaths of three patients, including two children and a woman.
In a press statement, Al-Farra confirmed that no specialized medications for treating ascending paralysis have been delivered to the hospital thus far.
He noted that health conditions in the Strip are deteriorating further, with approximately ten new cases of malnutrition recorded daily.
