Gaza – Saba:
Eight European countries on Sunday issued a joint statement strongly condemning the Israeli government's announcement of a plan to intensify its military attacks on the Gaza Strip and occupy Gaza City, warning against any demographic change in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The foreign ministers of Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain said in the statement that “Israel’s decision will only deepen the humanitarian catastrophe and put the lives of the remaining captives at risk.” They reaffirmed the eight countries’ rejection of any alteration to the demographic makeup of the Palestinian territories.
They stressed that the Israeli decision constitutes a violation of international law, reiterating that the Gaza Strip is an inseparable part of the State of Palestine, alongside the West Bank, including East Quds.
