Islamabad – Saba:
Four people were injured on Sunday when an improvised explosive device detonated, causing five carriages of the “Jaffar Express” bound for Peshawar to derail in Balochistan Province, southwestern Pakistan.
A Pakistani Railways official said the blast occurred on the railway line near “Speezand” station, about 25 kilometers from Quetta, shortly after the train departed the city at around 9:00 a.m. local time.
According to India’s Press Trust agency, Sunday’s incident is the latest in a series of attacks targeting the “Jaffar Express.”
Rescue teams, including railway staff, were dispatched to the site, and a relief train was sent to transport stranded passengers back to Quetta.
Security forces and police cordoned off the area, while a bomb disposal unit was deployed to secure the scene.
Officials said all injured passengers sustained only minor wounds.
