London – Saba:
Manchester United finalized the signing of Slovenian footballer Benjamin Šeško from Germany’s RB Leipzig on Saturday, securing the striker on a five-year contract until the summer of 2030.
This marks the Red Devils' third major attacking signing this summer.
In an official statement on the club’s website, Manchester United announced: "We are delighted to confirm the signing of Benjamin Šeško, subject to registration. The Slovenian international has signed a contract until June 2030."
The 22-year-old joined Leipzig in the summer of 2023 from Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg and delivered an outstanding performance over two seasons despite his young age, scoring 39 goals in 87 appearances across all competitions.
On the international stage, Šeško has earned 41 caps for Slovenia, netting 16 goals since becoming the youngest player in the national team’s history in 2021.
Šeško had also been a target for Newcastle United but chose to join the ranks of Portuguese manager Rúben Amorim. According to English media reports, the deal is worth around €85 million, including bonuses and incentives.
The Slovenian international is United’s third major attacking signing this summer, following the arrivals of Brazilian Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton and Cameroonian Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
