The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that its air defense systems shot down 51 Ukrainian drones overnight over several Russian provinces.

The ministry said in a statement: "Last night, from 11:00 PM Moscow time on August 5 to 5:30 AM Moscow time on August 6, air defense systems destroyed and intercepted 51 Ukrainian drones."

The statement explained that the areas over which the Ukrainian drones were destroyed were distributed as follows: "16 drones over each of the Rostov and Bryansk provinces, 12 over Crimea, 4 drones over Voronezh province, and 3 drones over Oryol province."
