Gaza - Saba
Dr. Khalil Al-Daqran, spokesman for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, warned on Tuesday of the worsening health and humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, stressing that malnutrition is spreading "very rapidly," amid expectations of a sharp rise in the resulting death toll.
Al-Daqran stressed that the Gaza Strip is witnessing a near-total collapse of its health infrastructure, as "we lack water, food, and medicine, and the health sector is on the brink of collapse."
He added that the policy of "deliberate starvation" pursued by Israel directly contributes to the spread of disease and the deterioration of the general health situation, calling for addressing the root causes of the outbreak of epidemics and chronic diseases, according to the Palestine Today Agency.
