Moscow - Saba:
The Russian Ministry of Defense on Tuesday said paratroopers from the Russian "Tula" unit destroyed a command center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Sumy region.
Sputnik quoted the ministry as saying in a statement: "The Grad rocket launcher crews of the Tula unit of the Russian Northern Group are carrying out combat missions to target the enemy in Sumy Oblast and establish a buffer zone along the Russian border."
The statement indicated that during an aerial reconnaissance, the army discovered a large concentration of Ukrainian infantry forces in a forest in the Oblast.
The ministry added: "After receiving the target coordinates, the Grad rocket launcher crews quickly moved to the specified point and, with precise missile fire covering the designated area, neutralized the personnel and destroyed the Ukrainian command and control center."
The Russian Defense Ministry explained that as a result of successful operations, Russian forces were able to disrupt coordination between Ukrainian Armed Forces units and destroy a field ammunition depot in the area.
