The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine stated on Thursday, marking the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, that over the past year, the Palestinian people have lost a great national leader — steadfast, resilient, and among the most loyal martyrs, sincere in his devotion to his homeland and land, unwavering in defending it and sacrificing for it until his last breath.
In a statement, the Democratic Front said: “As we commemorate the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the great national leader Ismail Haniyeh, we salute our people and their valiant resistance in the Gaza Strip for their legendary steadfastness, which astonished the world and compelled many to reevaluate their positions and look at the Palestinian cause from a just perspective.”
The Front added, “In this steadfastness and these achievements, we see signs of loyalty from our people and their resistance to the great sacrifices made by the heroic leader Ismail Haniyeh, his family members, and his comrades. It is also a testament to the fact that our people do not forget those who sacrificed for them, enriched their struggle, and helped lift oppression off their shoulders—without betrayal, supplication, or reliance on corrupt wagers.”
