Sana’a - Saba:
Yasser Sharafuddin, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor for Care and Services, inspected today the conditions at the Al-Azraqin displacement camp in the Capital Sana’a.
During the visit, accompanied by Agim Berqua, Shelter Cluster Coordinator and Camp Management Coordinator at the General Commission for Refugees, Undersecretary Sharafuddin listened to displaced persons explain their basic needs, foremost among them education, healthcare, clean drinking water, and shelter. This comes amid the suspension of essential aid and grants provided by international organizations. The camp houses 800 displaced individuals, including 544 children.
Sharafuddin emphasized the importance of concerted efforts by official authorities, the private sector, civil society organizations, and charitable associations to provide basic services to all displacement camps, which number over 1,200 and shelter no fewer than one million displaced persons.
He noted that this shared responsibility requires serious action to meet the needs of displaced persons, integrate them into society, and systematically resettle them in their original villages and governorates.
