Gaza - Saba:
Marwan Al-Hams, director of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip, warned of fears that major hospitals may cease operations due to a severe shortage of medicine and medical supplies.
In press statements on Monday, Al-Hams said that the cases arriving at hospitals from aid distribution centers are critical, noting that intensive care units are full.
"We are rationing medical supplies—what is meant for one patient is now being divided between two or three," he added.
Al-Hams stressed that if the situation continues as it is, meningitis could spread across the region.
Earlier, Mohammed Abu Afash, director of medical relief in Gaza, stated that the health sector is struggling, and they fear an outbreak of meningitis among children.
Since March 2, the enemy has closed the crossings into Gaza, blocking the entry of food, relief, medical aid, and goods, leading to a severe deterioration in humanitarian conditions.
On March 18, 2025, the enemy renewed its aggression on Gaza with airstrikes across the Strip, violating a ceasefire agreement with Hamas and resistance factions that had lasted nearly 60 days after being brokered by the U.S., Egypt, and Qatar.
