The Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, announced on Monday the recording of a record number of meningitis cases among children, with the number of confirmed cases reaching 35.
The complex's management confirmed that what is happening represents a "health disaster," noting that all cases arrived with high cell counts indicating that infection is of bacterial type.
For his part, a specialist doctor explained that these infections pose a significant risk to children's mental abilities, senses, and movement, emphasizing the seriousness of this disease and the need for urgent intervention to treat it and limit its spread.
