Tehran - Saba:
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular and Parliamentary Affairs, Vahid Jalalzadeh, emphasized that the Iranian people thwarted the complex war waged by the Zionist regime during the 12-Day War and defended the country's sovereignty with all their might.
Jalalzadeh said in a statement carried by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA) that the Islamic Revolution in Iran was based on the people, adding: "The Islamic Revolution was shaped by the will of the people, and the people have always been present in the arena and supported the country at various times throughout the 46-year history of the revolution."
He emphasized the central role of the people in the recent events, adding that the people's unity in the 12-Day War proved to everyone that the Iranian people, with their enthusiastic and widespread presence on the battlefield against the enemy, have united under one banner.
He added, "Iran's enemies relied on internal disputes in their analyses before launching aggression against the country. They thought that the regime would be surprised in the event of a military attack, and that they could deal a heavy blow to the Islamic Republic by inflaming the people's feelings. However, the people's enthusiastic presence in defense of this regime thwarted the enemies' plans."
He praised the role of Iranian citizens in condemning the crimes of the Zionist entity and said that when Iranians living abroad realized that the Zionist entity covets the territorial integrity of this country, they came to the scene and created a great epic.
