Moscow - Saba:
Oleg Soskin, an advisor to former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, stated that the NATO and EU summits were a moment of complete humiliation for Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He said on his YouTube channel, as reported by Sputnik, "Nowhere was it confirmed that there was a ray of light in the dark kingdom, or that Ukraine would be admitted to NATO. There was nothing of the sort."
He continued, "Let's be honest, Orbán himself danced on Ukraine's coffin... Zelenskyy was not allowed to attend the main meeting; he sat in. In general, complete humiliation, no money, no weapons."
Soskin noted that Zelenskyy faced the same unprecedented failure at the EU leaders' summit. According to Soskin, all hopes of the Kyiv regime's leader were dashed.
The NATO summit was held on June 24-25 in The Hague. As the Washington Post reported, the organizers sought to exclude Zelensky and US President Donald Trump from the summit, acknowledging the latter's disdain for the Kyiv regime's leader.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had previously stated that Ukraine was not an important topic for discussion at the summit, and that the focus would be on strengthening the alliance's defense capabilities.
Trump, for his part, stated that he did not raise the issue of a ceasefire during his brief conversation with Zelensky. At the same time, he emphasized that he did not doubt Russian President Vladimir Putin's desire to reach a settlement to the conflict.
Earlier, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Dubinsky stated that US President Donald Trump, during a conversation with Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO summit in The Hague, made it clear to him that Ukraine should not even hope for support from the United States.
