Tulkarm – Saba:
The Israeli aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp entered its 153rd consecutive day Saturday and its 140th day on Nur Shams camp, amidst continued military reinforcements and escalation.
The city of Tulkarm is witnessing intensive activity by Israeli enemy vehicles and infantry units, especially in the market area and along Nablus Street, specifically adjacent to the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps.
The enemy forces deliberately obstruct the movement of citizens and vehicles, provocatively sounding their horns and driving against traffic, endangering the lives of civilians, according to the official Palestinian News Agency.
Enemy forces continue to impose a tight siege on the two camps and their surroundings, with infantry units, military vehicles, and heavy bulldozers deployed in alleys and entrances, preventing residents from reaching their homes or checking on their property, amid direct gunfire targeting anyone approaching the area.
Last week, Nur Shams camp witnessed extensive demolition of dozens of buildings and residential units, completely destroying them. This affected the neighborhoods of Al-Manshiyya, Al-Maslakh, Al-Eidah, and Al-Jami', creating wide streets that separated the neighborhoods from each other.
Tulkarm camp also witnessed the demolition of more than 50 buildings over the course of two consecutive weeks, affecting the neighborhoods of Al-Balawneh, Al-Akasha, Al-Nadi, Al-Sawalmeh, Al-Hammam, and Al-Madaris, and their surroundings.
This ongoing escalation comes as part of the implementation of a plan announced by the occupation authorities last May, which calls for the demolition of 106 buildings in both camps.
These include 58 buildings in Tulkarm camp alone, comprising more than 250 residential units and dozens of commercial establishments, in addition to 48 buildings in Nur Shams camp, under the pretext of opening roads and changing geographical features.
In this context, enemy forces continue their crippling measures at the entrances to Tulkarm, especially Anab military checkpoint east of the city, which they close almost permanently, preventing vehicles from passing. They also periodically place a flying checkpoint at Jabara Bridge at the southern entrance to the city, exacerbating the suffering of residents and complicating their daily movement.
At the same time, enemy forces continue to transform Nablus Street into military barracks by continuing to seize several residential buildings there, along with parts of the city's northern neighborhood, specifically those facing Tulkarm refugee camp.
The enemy forces forcibly evacuated their residents, some of whom have been under enemy control for more than four months. They have also deployed heavy machinery and bulldozers in the surrounding area.
