Russian official: Kyiv attracts young men, women to force them into conscription

Saint Petersburg - Saba:

Donetsk People's Governor Denis Pushilin revealed measures taken by Ukrainian authorities to attract young men and women to join the Kyiv forces as part of a plan to impose conscription on them.

Pushilin said, according to the Russian news agency TASS, that Kyiv authorities are working to expand this policy to the point of imposing conscription on these groups.

He added, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum: "This policy is already partially being implemented now, because they are still attracting young people through one-time payments and other stories, but we see that they are actually recruiting 18-year-olds to the front. They don't realize what's happening, and they seem very surprised when they are captured and say, 'Why us?' or 'We were deceived.'" This is something we're also observing," Pushilin continued. "As for women, look at the advertising campaign they launched, and how it's become a trend now. Some members of the Ukrainian parliament are saying that this should have been done a long time ago, that women should be on the front lines. This is being implemented now, but it's just the first steps, before the process of getting used to all of this begins."

According to his assessment, the next step for the Kyiv regime will be compulsory conscription for these groups. He added, "They won't be able to do without this."

This year's St. Petersburg International Economic Forum began today and will continue until June 21. The main theme of the event is "Shared Values - The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World," with approximately 20,000 participants from 140 countries participating.
