Bogota – Saba:
A strong earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck Colombia early Sunday, local time.
Buildings shook in the Colombian capital, Bogota, as sirens sounded throughout the city, and people rushed into the streets, according to Agence France-Presse and the US Geological Survey.
The German Research Center for Geosciences said a 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck Colombia on Sunday, explaining that the quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers.
However, Colombia's Geological Survey said it registered the quake's magnitude at 6.4 between the capital, Bogota, and the region of Villavicencio.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Paratibueno, about 187 kilometers from the capital, where residents felt a strong tremor that lasted for seconds.
