Dhamar - Saba:
A meeting in Dhamar governorate on Sunday, chaired by governor Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, discussed preventive measures to limit the spread of acute watery diarrhea, especially with the arrival of the rainy season.
In the meeting, which was attended by leaders of the Health Office and directors of relevant executive agencies and private hospitals, governor al-Bukhaiti emphasized the importance of concerted efforts by the relevant executive offices to address watery diarrhea, in accordance with the matrix prepared by the Ministry.
He urged private hospitals to receive cases of watery diarrhea and allocate treatment wards, supporting the role of the government health sector and working to reduce costs for citizens.
Governor al-Bukhaiti directed the formation of an operations room to monitor the implementation of the tasks assigned to the executive offices.
Director of the Health and Environment Office Dr. Tariq al Khaiwani reviewed the proactive preventive efforts made to combat watery diarrhea and limit its spread. He highlighted the efforts of health teams in receiving cases and the mechanisms for dealing with and treating them.
He emphasized the importance of integrating the efforts of the various executive offices in supporting the health sector and treating cases of acute watery diarrhea. He reviewed the most prominent causes of the epidemic, methods of prevention, and the measures adopted within the office's plan to address it.
Dr. al-Khaiwani emphasized the importance of community awareness in promoting healthy behavior and preventing the spread of diseases and epidemics.
The attendees emphasized the importance of providing medical services for cases of watery diarrhea, including the provision of intravenous solutions, necessary medications, and specialized medical examinations.
They also highlighted the implementation of chlorination and sterilization activities for water sources, enhancing coordination among relevant authorities, and intensifying the necessary field efforts to support the health sector.
