Turkish trade unions, in cooperation with the General Union of Palestinian Workers, held a massive public event on Tuesday in Geneva’s “Broken Chair” square, in front of the United Nations headquarters, under the slogan “Incomplete Justice.” The event aimed to show solidarity with the rights of Palestinian workers and to demand an end to Israeli violations against them.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the event witnessed a significant presence of national and international trade union and labor leaders.
In his speech, Shaher Saad, Secretary-General of the General Union of Palestinian Workers, outlined the suffering of Palestinian workers under occupation, emphasizing the importance of unifying efforts to provide international protection for them.
He also addressed the massacres being committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza, calling for an end to the ongoing Israeli genocide and aggression against Palestine.
Several general secretaries of international unions also spoke, affirming their commitment to the values of social justice and human rights, and the need to mobilize international efforts to bring justice to the Palestinian people.
Speakers highlighted the dire humanitarian conditions faced by the Palestinian population, especially in the Gaza Strip, stressing the urgent need to stop the Israeli aggression and all forms of violence and violations.
This event is part of a series of international union mobilizations aimed at shedding light on the Palestinian cause and strengthening solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom, justice, and dignity.
