London – Saba:
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Monday that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is "unacceptable" and is worsening by the day.
In press statements, Starmer confirmed that the British government is working with its allies to convey this message clearly to all parties, according to Ma'an News Agency.
He added: "We are working with our international partners to emphasize that what is happening in Gaza cannot continue, and urgent steps must be taken to achieve an immediate ceasefire."
The Prime Minister stressed the need to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip "quickly and in sufficient quantities," noting that the current aid flow does not meet the minimum needs of civilians.
Starmer stated that "Britain calls for coordinated international action aimed at ending the violence, alleviating the suffering of the civilian population, and ensuring unhindered access for humanitarian relief."
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has been committing genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 54,470 Palestinian citizens, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 124,693 others. To date, this is a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still buried under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams.
