Official data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Tuesday showed that the country's software and IT services industry recorded double-digit year-on-year growth in revenue and profits during the first four months of 2025.
The ministry reported, according to Xinhua News Agency, that the industry's combined revenue reached 4.26 trillion yuan (about 592.34 billion U.S. dollars) during the January-April period, an increase of 10.8 percent year-on-year, while total industry profits grew by 14.2 percent to 507.5 billion yuan.
Detailed data showed that during the period, total revenue of the IT services sub-sector maintained double-digit growth of 11.5 percent to 2.84 trillion yuan, accounting for 66.7 percent of the combined revenue of the entire industry.
Specifically, combined revenue from cloud computing and big data services increased 11.4 percent year-on-year to 465.8 billion yuan.
