Washington - Saba:
US President Donald Trump said Friday evening that "an agreement on a ceasefire in Gaza is very close."
According to Quds Press, Trump explained during a meeting with reporters at the White House that he would announce the ceasefire today or tomorrow, without providing any details.
The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, revealed earlier on Friday that it was consulting with the factions regarding a ceasefire proposal in the Gaza Strip.
The movement said in a statement that it "is consulting with the Palestinian forces and factions regarding the ceasefire proposal it recently received from Witkoff through mediators."
Hamas announced on Thursday that its leadership had received US envoy Steve Witkoff's proposal to end the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army continues its refusal to accept the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which went into effect on January 19 and lasted for about two months, after 471 days of genocide.
