Gaza - Saba:
Director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, revealed that the complex is operating at 20% of its capacity due to the Zionist enemy's destruction of the health system in the Gaza Strip, which is on the verge of collapse.
Abu Salmiya stressed in media statements on Saturday that Al-Shifa Medical Complex is facing a tragic situation, noting that kidney patients are dying due to the inability to treat them. He pointed out that the shortage of treatment, equipment, and medical supplies is affecting kidney patients, whose health is gradually deteriorating, while fluids are retained inside the body, and many of them may lose their lives.
He explained that some people are being martyred before their eyes due to their inability to provide care.
He added, "We also differentiate between patients and see the wounded and sick dying before our eyes."
He pointed out that international organizations are striving to provide assistance, but the occupation is preventing the entry of aid.
For his part, internal medicine and kidney specialist at Al-Shifa Hospital, Muhammad Abu Hasira, said that the hospital suffers from a shortage of medical equipment and dialysis supplies, which has led to severe complications for patients and the death of many
He noted that the hospital also suffers from a shortage of dialysis supplies and equipment, as a result of the enemy authorities' refusal to allow the necessary equipment and supplies to enter the hospital.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that hospitals in the Gaza Strip are suffering from a severe shortage of oxygen due to the burning and destruction of ten central oxygen generating stations by the Israeli occupation army during the genocide. These stations met the needs of vital departments, such as operating rooms, intensive care units, emergency rooms, and nurseries, in addition to patients' needs at home.
It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation army destroyed 34 of the 38 hospitals in the Gaza Strip during the genocidal war. Only four hospitals remained operating at limited capacity despite their damage, amid a severe shortage of medicines and medical equipment, according to the latest statistics from the Government Media Office in Gaza.
