Madrid – Saba:
Croatian midfield maestro Luka Modric has announced he will leave Real Madrid at the end of the current 2024-2025 season.
The 39-year-old's contract with the Spanish giants expires next summer, and while many Real Madrid fans anticipated a further contract extension, it appears the club's management has opted not to retain the veteran playmaker beyond this season.
Modric shared an emotional farewell message to the Real Madrid faithful on his Instagram account, stating: "Dear Real Madrid fans, the time has come. A moment I never wished for, but that's football, and everything in life has a beginning and an end. On Sunday, I will play my last match at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium."
The Croatian star is set to play his final game for Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabéu next Sunday against Real Sociedad in the final matchday of the Spanish League, where he will bid farewell to the Madrid supporters.
