On Club World Cup occasion, exceptional decision from FIFA

Zurich - Saba:

FIFA announced on Thursday that the transfer window for the 32 teams participating in the Club World Cup will be open until the final moments before the tournament kicks off in the United States next month.

This has increased speculation that Cristiano Ronaldo could move to one of the teams participating in this competition on a short-term contract.

FIFA confirmed that all 20 national associations participating in the tournament, which includes the 32 participating teams, have agreed to last year's proposal to open exceptional registration periods for player transfers ahead of the month-long tournament, which begins on June 14 in Miami.

Clubs participating in the tournament will be able to conclude transfers during the period from June 1 to 10, in addition to another window from June 27 to July 3, in accordance with the exceptional rules approved by FIFA.

FIFA said in a statement: "The aim of this decision is to encourage clubs and players whose contracts are expiring to find a suitable solution to facilitate their participation."
