Ramallah - Saba:
Israeli occupation forces continue to escalate their targeting of prisoners released in the recent exchange deal.
This morning, Thursday, they arrested six released prisoners after raiding and storming their families' homes in the West Bank.
The Palestinian Prisoners' Club, a human rights organization, stated in a statement issued Thursday that this escalation is part of a systematic policy, a clear and new violation of the deal, and a new message to all released prisoners: they will remain targeted and persecuted.
This morning, Israeli occupation forces re-arrested the released prisoners: Saed Al-Fayed, Ibrahim Attia, and Saeed Diab. They had served a combined 22 years in prison. Mahdi Akas had served eight years. Hamza Shraim, who was wounded, had served 14 months. All of them were from the Qalqilya Governorate. Salama Qattawi, who was released from Ramallah, had served 15 years.
The Prisoners' Club added: "Over the past period, the occupation has arrested 13 released prisoners; seven of them were kept in detention and six were transferred to administrative detention."
He pointed out that the number of arrests among released prisoners rose to 19 today, "including those who were arrested and kept in detention by the occupation, as well as those who were subsequently released."
He considered that "the arrest of released prisoners is part of a series of policies and tools employed by the occupation against released prisoners over decades, most notably in the case of those released in the Wafa al-Ahrar deal in 2014."
