Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina advanced to the quarterfinals of the Strasbourg Open 500 tennis tournament in the French capital, Paris, on Tuesday, defeating China's Wang Xinyu in straight sets (6-1, 6-3).

Rybakina will next face Poland's Magda Linette, who defeated Slovakia's Rebecca Sramkova in straight sets (6-4, 6-3).

Spain's Paula Badosa also advanced to the same round after her Czech opponent, Marie Bouzkova, withdrew due to injury.

Badosa will face either France's Diane Parry or Russia's Lyudmila Samsonova in the quarterfinals, which will be held later.
