Sa'ada – SABA: A meeting in Sa'ada governorate, chaired by Governor Mohammed Awad, today discussed the repercussions of the suspension of UN organizations' work on the local healthcare sector and the measures taken to address the situation.

The meeting reviewed the health sector's emergency preparedness plan, the role of the Red Crescent Society in supporting healthcare services, the causes of weak medical services in the districts, and alternatives to combat the spread of diseases and epidemics caused by the aggression.

The attendees heard interventions from:
- Dr. Yahya Shayem, Director of the Health Office,
- Dr. Ismail Al-Warfi, Head of the Republican General Hospital,
- Dr. Mohammed Al-Khatib, Director of Al-Talh General Hospital,
- Hassan Al-Muallif, Director of the Red Crescent branch in Sa'ada,

They discussed the health conditions in the governorate, the status of government and private hospitals, health centers, and units, and ways to enhance their role through government-community cooperation in supporting healthcare efforts.

The participants stressed the need for regular meetings among health sector officials in the governorate to assess the situation and resolve obstacles hindering medical work.

Governor Awad emphasized the importance of doubling efforts to improve healthcare services, preparing for emergencies, and ensuring medical coverage in districts to alleviate citizens' suffering.

He called for greater coordination between rural and general hospitals and relevant authorities to overcome challenges, urging all parties to shoulder their responsibilities and uphold accountability
