Gaza - Saba:
UNICEF has confirmed that 470,000 children in the Gaza Strip have been at risk of famine since last March.
The organization stated in press statements on Tuesday that the announced plans to bring in humanitarian aid are a waste of time aimed at neutralizing the United Nations, according to the Sanad News Agency.
UNICEF pointed out that there is no alternative but to increase pressure to ensure greater and unhindered access to aid into the Gaza Strip.
The Fund explained that 50 percent of the population of the Gaza Strip are children and need psychological support, while 470,000 of them have become famine-stricken since Israel closed the Strip's crossings on March 2.
The Israeli enemy continues its policy of "systematic starvation" by closing the crossings and preventing the flow of aid, amid the international community's inability to halt the accelerating humanitarian collapse inside Gaza.
Monday evening the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip confirmed that humanitarian needs are increasing significantly, noting that the Strip requires approximately 500 aid trucks and 50 fuel trucks daily.
It explained that this means that approximately 44,000 trucks will be required to enter during the 80 days of the ongoing blockade, while the permitted amount of food does not exceed 0.02% of this amount, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
